DANCE EVOLUTION by Robyn - All Forms of Dance and Gymnastics
"Dance Evolution is a place where students are encouraged to learn and grow.

Praise is an integral part of instruction at Dance Evolution as we believe it is indispensible to developing confidence and trust.  Positive encouragement allows students to achieve their goals with a true sense of accomplishment.

I believe every student is an individual and should be taught as such.

My core belief is that there are no limits to what a student can learn and accomplish and that no goal is too large!"

About Miss Robyn...

Robyn L. Voegele, Miss Robyn as her students call her, started her journey in the art of dance at the tender age of 2½ in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. It all began at the Eleanor Connell School of Dance. Throughout her dance training she studied ballet, Cecchelti, an Italian style of ballet, tap, jazz and acrobatics. As her love of dance grew, she accomplished many goals at a young age.

Besides dance, Robyn started roller skating at the age of 4 year. Incorporating her dance into a whole new adventure. Competing in a local competition, at the age of 8, she became the youngest to receive a title of “Princess” of the rink. She later took precision skating classes and was approached to train in pairs skating. Although Robyn continued skating for years, her love of dance and gymnastics was much stronger. With her dance career in full swing, her dram was to be a dance teacher from as far back as she can remember.

In addition to regular dance studies, Robyn auditioned and became a student of The New Jersey Ballet and studied under many well-known teachers such as Edward Villella (a principal dancer in the New York City Ballet Company and became the artistic advisor in the New Jersey Ballet Company), Carolyn Clark and Madam Sonya of the New Jersey Ballet. Robyn also trained in New York City with Don Farnworth, Frank Hatchett, Luigi, and David Howard.

From 7th Grade through her Freshman year, Robyn was a demonstrator at Dance Olympus in New York City under the direction of her teach, Eleanor Connell. She began teaching at the age of 14 at her local studio and traveled one night a week to each at VFW in Piscataway, New Jersey from the age of 17 to 18. Throughout high school, Robyn also volunteered for the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra at their performances as an usher. She was also a cheerleader from her Freshman through Junior years and became a Varsity Cheerleader early on and began to teach her fellow cheerleaders gymnastics moves in order to incorporate then into their routines. This was a new concept to the school’s cheerleading team.

Robyn was the pioneer for women in high school in the work-study program. She was the first female to participate in a program designed for students to go to school for half of the day and the other half of the day working in her chosen career of teaching dance in New Jersey. Robyn also choreographed many plays for her local theatres and volunteered teaching dance at after school activities. Throughout middle school and high school, Robyn auditioned and because on the principal dancers at Ballet Allegresse, Hunterdon County’s own ballet company.

At the age of 19, Robyn opened her first dance school. Throughout her successful 33 years in business in Hunterdon County, Robyn retired her school after teaching three generations of students and being the first to teach dance to special needs children in her area.

After closing the studio in 2005, Robyn moved to Tafton, PA on Lake Wallenpaupack. After a few years and ready to move on through this journey, her love of dance was always first in her heart and won out once again, and she opened the doors of her new studio, Dance Evolution By Robyn in September of 2008 at the Hawley Methodist church and then moving to her current location at 314 Main Avenue, Second Floor in Hawley, PA. Everyone knows her study by her beautiful lavender colored-door.

Robyn is very active in her community. She is a member of the Tafton Fire Company. She recently successfully completed the 16-hour course in Emergency Vehicle Driver Training, receiving her certificate through Bucks County Community College. She is also a member of the American Lesion, the Downtown Hawley Partnership and the local Chamber of Commerce. Robyn and her son, Merrick’s big heart and the willingness to volunteer have brought them to the seeing-eye program out of Morristown, New Jersey. They have raised, trained and graduated two dogs for seeing-eye and are waiting their third dog.

Robyn is a mother to two daughters, Fritzi and Jeryn and three grandchildren; Madison, Landon and Tripp with a fourth on the way in November of 2011, and a son, Merrick, who is a senior at the local high school. Merrick has danced since the age of 2. In addition to dancing at his mother’s studio, he also has taken Hip-Hop classes with the choreographer from the movie “You Got Served”. Merrick is currently our advanced Hip-Hop Teacher at Dance Evolution By Robyn.

Miss Robyn’s 41 years of teaching has been the most rewarding career she could imagine. “To see those smiling faces every day makes my life full of happiness and love. To make a difference in the lives of our children is a huge responsibility, which I take on with eagerness and enthusiasm. To teach them and watch them grow as children and young adults is wonderful, and I proudly say they are MY KIDS!!!

I have had the joy of watching many of my students go places and do many things with their talent such as New Jersey Ballet, New York City Ballet, Princeton Ballet, Rockettes, Ice Capades, commercials, Broadway, started dance programs in local colleges, over two dozen became dance teachers and eight started their own dance and gymnastics schools.

During the past three years in Pennsylvania, my students that have expressed their goals have achieved them by auditioning and being accepted into the Scranton Ballet and joint and competing in gymnastics in Scranton. I proudly applaud their achievements.

If your children want to learn, this is where they start. My promise to you is to help them achieve their goals no matter how large or small. My methods of teaching are through praise and telling them I know they can accomplish anything they put their minds to! If they are having fun they will work harder. Many surprises are coming our way that you will truly enjoy!"
